QNET scam: Cyberabad police issues notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor and Yuvraj Singh

The Cyberabad police served summons on 500 individuals, including Shahrukh Khan, Boman Irani, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Yuvraj Singh in connection with the probe into QNet multi-level marketing crimes.

In order to explain their endorsement of or affiliation with QNet, the receivers have been asked by the police to come before the investigation office within a week. Police warned that appropriate legal action will be taken against the recipients if they failed to appear before the investigating officer within the allotted period.

The Cyberabad police took action after several QNet victims claimed that numerous innocent individuals had been defrauded as a result of celebrities endorsing QNet.

Numerous cases of fraud against QNet and its Indian subsidiary Vihaan Direct Selling have been reported to the authorities. The Cyberabad police have detained 58 independent QNet representatives in various situations since January.

In a press conference the arrest of independent representatives, QNet said, "In cognisance of Cyberabad Police Commissioner's statement about the misrepresentation by the independent representatives of QNet in Hyderabad promising quick money and making other false claims about the financial returns from the business, we have launched a detailed internal investigation to ascertain and punish the culprits, and have already suspended several IRs."

However, representatives of QNet have made it clear that Vihaan Direct Selling is being run in strict accordance with the law.

Six months after his imprisonment, Michael Ferreira, Director of Vihan Direct Selling and claimed victim of a multi-level marketing fraud, was freed from Taloja Central Prison in Navi Mumbai in April 2017.
